Why choose this trail
An accessible old-growth rainforest sample. A compact loop leaves the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center and winds through old-growth forest and maple groves heavy with moss.
Landscape & habitat
The Hoh receives enough moisture to support one of North America's classic temperate rainforests. Sitka spruce, western hemlock, bigleaf maple, epiphytes and nurse logs stack habitat vertically.
Access, passes & rules
Olympic entrance fees apply. Summer entrance lines can be long because the road ends at a limited parking area.
Conditions & hazards
Roots and boardwalk can be slick. Never stop on the entrance road while waiting unless directed by park staff.
